It was a beautiful celebration of one of the most beloved cozy games of all time. The show was led by Thanapol Setabrahmana, conductor and music arranger for both Festival of Seasons and Symphony of Seasons,  accompanied by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. Both the 3PM and 7PM shows sold out , and honestly, that energy could be felt immediately.  I've attended a performance at Solaire Theatre before, but this audience felt different. There was something warm, excited, and deeply connected about a crowd gathered because of a game that has mean...

Devlog #001 - From Unpaid Intern to Starting Something Real

I’ve been meaning to properly document my game development journey, and I guess this is me finally starting. This devlog is a compilation of my early notes from when I was still learning on my own before I started streaming. I used to call these my “BB Intern Logs,” back when I joked that I was my partner’s unpaid intern. ๐Ÿ—‚️ Devlog Note This entry compiles my earlier logs (#BBInternLog001–003), documented before I began streaming regularly on Twitch. ๐Ÿ› ️ What I Worked On My first few days were mostly about setting things up and exploring what was even possible. Tangy TD - A Roguelike That Kept Me Up Until 4AM

Image
Image source: Steam — Tangy TD by Cakez77 (Used for commentary and review purposes) Tangy TD  is a roguelike tower defense game developed by Cakez77 . I first came across it through posts and articles about the developer breaking down in tears after seeing the game's success.  That moment stuck with me. As someone learning game development myself, I couldn't help but feel curious... and a little inspired. So I decided to try the game for myself.  First Impressions A little context: I love  roguelikes and roguelites. It's one of those games that instantly makes a game feel more replayable for me. It also happened to be the Steam Spring Sale , so Ursaril got both of us a copy.  I went in completely blind. No gameplay videos. No guides. I wanted that fresh, unfiltered experience. "And I ended up sinking  9 hours  into it almost immediately." Gameplay Experience Tangy TD  has the core mechanics of a tower defense game, something I don't usually grav...

๐ŸŒฑ How Hello BB Dev Came To Be

Image
You know how the first thing you learn in programming is " Hello World" ? That's where I took inspiration for my name. Hello BB Dev. My partner, Ursaril, calls me "BB." For the longest time, he's been encouraging me to learn programming. Whenever I felt lost or overwhelmed about my future, he would tell me: "Turuan kita magprogramming para hindi ka na umiyak. At magkaka life skill ka pa!" (I'll teach you programming so you won't cry. And you'll gain a life skill too!) At that time, I was just a college student struggling — with academics, with direction, with everything feeling uncertain. To him, programming was something practical. As it was his livelihood for more than a decade. He himself taught himself how to develop games using Unity and he takes pride in that. Hence why he was so adamant on teaching me when I showed the slightest interest.  Funny enough... I did  end up learning game development. Just not from him ~  Finding Game ...
