My Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons Concert Experience
I finally touched grass in real life... only to get transported straight into the peaceful world of Stardew Valley.
Last weekend, Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons arrived in Manila, presented by ConcernedApe and Film Concerts PH. It was a beautiful celebration of one of the most beloved cozy games of all time.
The show was led by Thanapol Setabrahmana, conductor and music arranger for both Festival of Seasons and Symphony of Seasons, accompanied by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.
Both the 3PM and 7PM shows sold out, and honestly, that energy could be felt immediately.
I've attended a performance at Solaire Theatre before, but this audience felt different. There was something warm, excited, and deeply connected about a crowd gathered because of a game that has meant so much to them.
And what a perfect time for it too ~ a celebration as the game approaches its 10-year legacy.
(They gave out a program brochure with the set list)
Why This One Felt Personal
Stardew Valley holds a very special place in my heart. (I'll probably write a separate post on that story soon.)
So hearing its serene soundtrack performed live in a different rendition felt surreal. It was like stepping inside Pelican Town for a night.
The timing of it all felt meant to be. I managed to snag a ticket almost on impulse, frantically refreshing the website and trying to secure any seat at all.
Thankfully, I ended up with a great seat close to the stage. ABSOLUTELY worth the stress.
The Most Relatable Opening Ever
One of my favorite moments was during the intermission when Maestro Thanapol opened with:
"Imagine yourself working in a corporate job."
The entire audience resonated with laughter.
It was such an unexpected and hilarious opener... but also painfully relatable.
It was such an unexpected and hilarious opener... but also painfully relatable.
Especially because before the concert, I had been dealing with back-to-back overtime at work. So for me, this night genuinely felt like an escape; a chance to breathe, relax, and let myself enjoy something beautiful.
🌻 The Crowd Was Lovely
Another highlight was the attendees themselves.
People came dressed in:
- Cosplay
- Inspired Outfits
- Farmer Looks
- And even their OCs
The community energy was so wholesome. Some fellow attendees even gave out stickers, which made the event feel even sweeter.
(And yes, I also picked up merch)
(Showcasing my haul and they gave out the music sheet for Dance of the Moonlight Jellies)
🎻 Hoping for the Next One
If this was Festival of Seasons... then maybe one day we'll also get Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons here too.
I'd gladly be there for the next one!
✨Final Thoughts
Some concerts entertain you.
Some concerts remind you how much art can mean.
This one did both.
For one evening, a tired adult with overtime stress got to be carried away by the music of a game that once brought comfort, routine, and joy.
And honestly...
That was exactly what I needed.
That was exactly what I needed.
